By royal decree announced on October 11, 1865, on the night between December 31, 1865 and January 1, 1866 there should be an "almindelig Folketælling" (common census?) in Norway. Everyone who
is absent at the time (on leave, at sea, etc) should be listed. People who are temporarily visiting or on vacation should be omitted from the telling. Compilation of telling data shall be done on January 8, 1866. Date: 12 31, 1865
