Eric was born in San Francisco, but grew up mostly in San Jose, where he lived with his immediate family and grandparents. After high school, Eric moved to Santa Cruz to attend the University of California at Santa Cruz. He graduated from UCSC in 1990 with a degree in Philosophy. After trying unsuccessfully for several years to earn a living as a philosopher, Eric went to law school at the Monterey College of Law, where he graduated first in his class in 1997. After graduating he worked as a divorce lawyer for a couple years before joining the in-house legal department at Seagate Technology in Scotts Valley. Eric is also an adjunct professor of law at Monterey College of Law, where he teaches Corporations and Other Business Organizations.Parents
